Salary Guidelines


The following are some general salary guidelines for Nannies and other household employees in the San Francisco Bay Area. A household employee's salary is usually based on two factors: the amount of experience the candidate brings to the position and the duties included in the job description. These salaries are listed as gross salaries before payroll taxes are deducted. You can calculate net amounts (take home amount) using our Payroll Calculator.

Baby Nurses and Newborn Specialists The average salary range for a Night Nurse is $25-$35 per hour. Baby Nurses for multiples usually start at $30/hour.
Butler Butlers generally earn a salary between $50,000-$80,000 annually, plus benefits.
Chefs Personal Chefs usually earn between $30-$50 per hour, plus benefits.
Couples Couples salaries range from $65,000-$100,000 plus benefits for the couple.
Estate Managers Estate Managers generally earn a salary between $65,000-$150,000 annually, plus benefits.
Executive Assistants Executive Assistant generally earn a salary between $50,000-$100,000 annually, plus benefits.
Family Assistant Full-time Family Assistants typically earn between $2950-$4200 per month. Full-time and Part-time Family Assistants generally earn between $17-$25 per hour.
Household Manager Household Managers typically earn an annual salary between $45,000-$80,000, plus benefits.
Housekeepers Housekeepers generally earn between $20-$25 per hour, plus benefits. An Executive Housekeeper typically earns $23-$30 per hour.
Housemen Full-time Housemen typically earn between $35,000-$55,000, plus benefits. Part-time salaries range from $16-$25 per hour.
Nannies Full-time Nannies who live out typically earn between $2950-$4200 per month. Live-in Nannies usually earn between $2200-$3000 per month. Full-time and Part-time Nannies generally earn between $17-$25 per hour.
On-call Nannies On-call Nannies typically earn $18-$20 per hour.
Personal Assistants Personal Assistants typically earn between $52,000-$100,000 per year, plus benefits. $32-$45 per hour, plus benefits.
Professional Caregivers Full-time Professional Caregivers typically earn $45,000-$55,000 per year, plus benefits. A Part-time Professional Caregivers typically earns between $20-$25 per hour.
