Responsibilities

A Domestic Couple is made up of two individuals (often married) who work together as a team providing domestic and personal service for a household. The responsibilities of the domestic couple are based on the employer’s property and service needs. It is often useful to align the responsibilities of the couple with traditional job descriptions. Typically, domestic couples function in the following positions:  Caretaker, Housekeeper, Household or Estate Manager, Cook, Chef, Nanny, Houseman and Personal Assistant. Depending on the skills of the employees, the actual responsibilities performed by the individuals who comprise the Domestic Couple can be combined in any way that meets the needs of the employer. Domestic Couple positions are almost always Live-in positions.

Since every domestic couple and every family’s needs are different, we encourage both employers and candidates to review the responsibilities of the other positions listed on this site to determine the job description that will be the best fit for you.

Compensation

Compensation for a Domestic Couple is usually based on two factors: the amount of experience the candidate brings to the position and the duties included in the Domestic Couple job description.

Salary

The salary for a domestic couple can vary significantly depending on the required responsibilities, level of professionalism and type of experience required. Typical salaries for a live-in domestic couple range from $65,000 to $100,000. We encourage you to discuss your specific needs with us to ensure that your compensation package will result in the right match for you.
