Town & Country Nannies was founded in 1982 in San Francisco by Lauren Frances. In that same year, Mothers In Deed was founded by Dale Mnookin and headquartered in Palo Alto. Both agencies focused on helping Bay Area families find professional Nannies and housekeepers. In 1988, Monica Frei Jenkins, a former preschool teacher and child life specialist at Childrens Hospital of Oakland, joined Mothers In Deed, which had quickly become one of the nation's leading domestic placement agencies. She was named President in 1995. In 1997, Monica and Lauren made a strategic decision to join forces and merge Town & Country Nannies with Mothers In Deed, to create Town & Country Resources, currently the largest domestic placement agency in the country. In 2003, Lauren decided to spend more time at home with her two young daughters and Ellen Pack, an entrepreneur and visionary in the field of womens service, joined Town & Country Resources as Monicas partner. Today, Monica and Ellen continue the 25 year tradition of providing excellent service for Bay Area clients and candidates.
