Ellen has been an entrepreneur in the field of women’s services for over fifteen years. Prior to joining Town & Country Resources, Ellen founded Women.com, which she grew into the largest Internet destination for women on the Web. Ellen’s role included taking the company from its first employee to its IPO, and ultimately selling the company in 2001 to iVillage.

Ellen first encountered Town & Country Resources when she and her husband retained the agency to find a newborn specialist to ease their transition into parenthood. A few months later, they reengaged the agency to find the perfect Nanny: someone they could trust and who could keep up with their family’s busy dual-career lifestyle. She was impressed with the quality of the Nannies she met through Town & Country Resources and the speed at which the agency worked: "I really liked the way they took a very personal approach to understand what I needed. Town & Country Resources helped save me an enormous amount of time and I felt more secure as a result of their thorough screening process."

When the opportunity arose to become an owner of Town & Country Resources, Ellen jumped at the chance to assist busy Bay Area families with the vital services that Town & Country offers.

Ellen’s pioneering work has earned her recognition from a number of industry organizations and media outlets. In 1996, Forbes magazine featured her on its cover and Working Woman named Ellen one of "350 Women Who Changed the World" in the last two decades. In 1998, the San Francisco Business Times listed her among the "50 Most Influential Businesswomen in the Bay Area," and in 2001, Fortune Small Business magazine featured Ellen among "25 Women Who Are Making it Big in Small Business".

Raised in New York, Ellen is the youngest of five children. She holds an MBA and BA from Columbia University. Ellen lives with her husband and daughter in San Francisco, and their Town & Country Nanny is very much part of the family.
